Green & Clean: How to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day Stone Cold Sober 🍀

Drinking heavy holidays like St. Patrick’s can be quite a challenge for non-drinkers. As a sober-owned winery, we get it, we’ve been there. We’re so thankful for how many more grown-up non-alcoholic options are out there, versus even five years ago that allow us to feel more included and supported. We’re going to add some green food coloring to our sparkling wine, and raise a glass to all the other non-drinking St. Patrick’s celebrators out there! Here’s a few ideas on how you can celebrate sober:

1. Host a Non-Alcoholic Feast

Celebrate with a spread of Irish culinary delights that cater to all tastes. Think hearty stews, soda bread, colcannon (a traditional Irish dish of potatoes with kale or cabbage), and other festive foods. Elevate your meal with our range of non-alcoholic wines, offering the complexity and nuance of their alcoholic counterparts without the buzz.

2. Attend or Host a Sober St. Patrick's Day Party

Look for local events that are alcohol-free or host your own. Encourage guests to wear green, play traditional Irish music, and have plenty of non-alcoholic options available. Include games and activities that focus on fun and camaraderie rather than drinking.

3. Get Crafty with Green Decor

Decorate your space with a green theme to get into the spirit of St. Patrick's Day. Engage in some DIY crafts like making shamrock garlands, leprechaun hats, and pots of gold at the end of rainbows. Not only is this a great activity for families, but it also sets a festive mood for any gathering.  We like to add some green dye to our Sparkling Wine.

4. Learn and Share Irish Culture

St. Patrick's Day is a perfect opportunity to dive deeper into Irish culture and history. Consider hosting a storytelling evening where guests can share tales from Irish folklore, listen to Irish music, or watch a documentary about Ireland. This can be a meaningful way to honor the day beyond the usual clichés.

5. Give Back

St. Patrick's Day is also an opportunity to spread kindness and joy. Consider organizing a community service project or a fundraiser for a cause you care about. Not only does this give back to the community, but it also brings people together in a positive, uplifting way.

6. Non-Alcoholic Pub Crawl

Organize a non-alcoholic pub crawl with friends, visiting local spots that offer exciting non-alcoholic beverages. Many places now cater to sober lifestyles with creative mocktails and non-alcoholic brews, so explore what your city has to offer.

7. Explore the Outdoors

Embrace the green theme literally by getting out into nature. Organize a hike, a picnic in the park, or a community clean-up. Not only is this a great way to celebrate, but it also connects you with the earthy essence of the Emerald Isle.

At Jøyus Non-Alcoholic Winery, we believe every celebration is an opportunity to create joyous memories that last a lifetime. This St. Patrick's Day, we encourage you to explore new traditions, make meaningful connections, and enjoy the festive spirit without alcohol.

Sláinte to a joyful, inclusive, and sober celebration!
