Mother’s Day Gift Guide: The Best Zero-Proof Wines

Back when I was pregnant with my daughters, who are both adolescents now, there were no zero-proof options in terms of wine. At least nothing that wasn’t just grape juice with some carbonation in a fancier bottle. But with the whole sober-curious movement driving innovation in the area, there are now literally dozens of options for alcohol-free wine, including a few that are very very good. Here’s a toast to moms and mothers-to-be who prefer something more complex than grape juice.

Joyus ($25)

This tart bubbly rosé is one of my favorites in the zero-proof space, redolent of blackberries and raspberries and very dry. It feels like a treat at the end of a long day, and it’s only 30 calories per glass. At about $25 a bottle, it’ll set you back around the same as a bottle of decent boozy sparkling wine.
